Thumbs up Woohoo!! 11.doh!!

11.DOH!!

Hit the track for the last weekend of the year.

DA was good today but unfortunately we had a direct 15mph headwind and traction sucked.

Weather conditions:

baro: 30.7
Temp: 38 degrees
Dew Point: 17.6
wind: 15mph direct headwind
track elevation: 700ft

DA: -1165 feet

got to the track around 12:00pm and threw on the slicks and tech'd.

Identical setup as last weekend (cats, single cutout, 28x9 inch slicks etc)

First pass I spun, lifted and hit it again

Sixty: 1.64
330: 4.63
1/8th: 7.11
mph: 99.18 new best!
1000: 9.27
1/4: 11.094 new best!
mph: 123.14 (let off early by accident)

Got the slip saw the first 11.DOH and celebrated.

Hotlapped the car:

Spun and had to lift again
Sixty: 1.64
330: 4.63
1/8th: 7.11
mph: 99.89 ALL TIME BEST 1/8th mph!
1000: 9.27
1/4: 11.080 ALL TIME BEST ET!
mph: 125.85 (stayed in it this time till after the traps)

Another new best!!

Hotlapped the car AGAIN
Spun AGAIN!
Sixty: 1.65
330: 4.64
1/8th: 7.12
mph: 99.42
1000: 9.27
1/4: 11.094
mph: 123.14 (let off early again DOH)

I ran IDENTICAL ET/MPH to the first pass down to the 1000th LOL!!

After that pass decided to let the car cool for awhile. Unfortunately the track started getting worse after that and the best I could do was a couple of 11.1's with 1.7 sixties

If it wasn't for that damn headwind and greasy starting line I would have had tens for sure and over 100mph in the 1/8th!!

What a great way to end the year!

good job Chris! sucks you have to wait until next year now to get that elusive 10 second run. I'd almost consider a road trip to the next closest track

Thanks guys!

Winter/spring items:

Solid rear swaybar (wolfe or BMR)
Hal shocks and springs
4.33 gears (instead of 4.11s)
Assistance from Roman and Taner on setting everything up

I might do a cam swap as well. (Something that'll peak a little higher (6300rpm and carry power to 6800rpm while remaining emissions legal).

Cam right now is great and makes awesome torque and HP but peaks at 6000 and carries to 6600rpm.

Goal for the spring is 10.70-10.80s through cats and consistent 1.4 sixties.

chris...ditch the 28x9s

get some 28x10.5s

They will not work at all for me...

my 26x10s were way more consistant. need the full 10" of tread IMHO

Yeah I am thinking about 28x10s if I go with 4.33s.

I should have went to the track yesterday. A friend of mine with a Z06 was there on sat (same day I ran 11.0s) and was running 12.4@118mph.

Yesterday (Sunday) the wind died down and the track was stickier. He went 12.20@120mph.

ARRRGH!!! Would have had my ten second slip!

yeah track prep sucked for me as well this weekend along with some other things

I also need some suspension help and a tire change too. Just goes to show you're not alone

You'll get those 10's next year, congrats on your new best! Take it easy

Nice runs Chris!

What is your approximate race weight? Are you still running full interior? That would be even more impressive.

Good luck to you.

Raceweight is right around ~3615 pounds.

I was running without a back seat for those runs but I ran with a full tank of gas trying to help traction.
