Default Your opinions on what I should do...

Ok, as some of you read on my last thread...my centerforce clutch has pretty much died.

Im still trying to figuere out if my car has the updated hydraulics or not, so if you think you can help me figuere this out...check out my thread here:

Do I have Update Hydros?

My car is putting down about 290-310rwhp right now (see my sig for mods). The decision depends alot on whether or not I have updated hydraulics or not. Either way I dont have the money for something like a McLeod or Ram VDS, all I really have money for is a Spec. I dont intend to be anywhere near 400rwhp anytime within the next 6 or so months anyway, so I doubt something on the McLeod of Ram VDS level is neccessary.

Also, I should mention that...for all intents and purposes this is my daily driver. So basically, I NEED this car to move...NOW. I cant wait to afford the setup that you probably will say I "really need"...alls I can really afford is to get the damn thing to be driveable again! I never go to the track, but have been known to do a lil hard driving everynow and then on the freeway...that I dont have to do, of course, but I do need to drive my car daily.

So here are my choices:
1. If I dont have updated hydros, just get a Spec Stage 1 for about $279, drive to and from work, dont street race, dont do burnouts...do nothing but just drive the car under normal conditions. Wait 3 or 4 months to upgrade to a better clutch set and buy a new flywheel, and update the hydraulics.
2. If I do have updated hydros, get a Spec Stage 3 + Billet Steel Flywheel combo for LMP for about $550 and call it a day.
3. Wait and see what other options LS1Tech.com members have...

i have an 02 ls6 clutch and pressure plate w/ ~650 miles on i'd be willing to give you a good price on if your interested.

as far as hydraulics if there original then you dont have the update, if you dont know if there original or not you can always check the part numbers.

Good lookin out JRP ,
Any reliable clutch will get you rolling.
I would still go Ram vds b4 spec 3 but its just my opinion.
Good luck with your car.

my car is still under the knife but my buddy has pretty much the same setup. takes a bit of getting used to but its no biggie, **** revs hella quick though . i got my clutch/FW combo for road racing.

-jaberwaki: 6600 rpm or so. will shift accordingly to the powerband. i've got a forged bottom end and ARP rod bolts so i could readily go to 7k if i wanted to but thats not my intent.

cool , best of luck with your setup.
is the spec SFI ?

I'd hate to lose a good mod to the flywheel thru the floorboard mod
