Default gains from fast lsx&90mm t-body? 1-company says 0 hp,other says 20hp?

i have a 01 ws6,head and camed car. i want more power(dont we all)and was looking at the fast lsx intake w/90mm th-body. one company a well known sponsor says i'll gain almost no hp over my ls6 intake. a nother well known sponsor says they have seen no less then 18hp on the dyno and most of the time 25hp on a head and camed car over the ls6 intake. what gives? is it worth it to buy a lsx intake or a wast of money? PLEASE HELP,i need facts on this not what people only think. thanks, mike c.

I saw a 27 rwhp increase with my 90mm LSX and 90mm TPIS T/B over my LS6 intake and ported T/B and this is with a B1 cam and Absolute Speed stage 2 heads.

90 is a bit much for stock cubes. Im one to talk though cause I have the fast 90mm. I plan on a 408 turbo so that intake will come into play well then. 90mm makes it more difficult to tune by the way

smokin joe-is your car tuned? any problems with it? it's funny how one company will say no hp,and another will say we dynoed 10 of them on different cars and saw no less then 18 and 25 on a h&c car.

With a stock MAF? Besides, it's like comparing sparkplugs to O2 sensors. Compare the 90mm to a ported stock TB through a stock MAF on a head cam car. That's a difference I would like to see.

If you have to have it, I would buy it from the guy who said it will gain 0hp. At least it sounds like someone you can trust. Not saying that the others are wrong, but it takes guts and honesty to say that about a product you could make a buck off of.

For one thing it's not too much for stock cube's and for your question Mike yes the car is tuned for the heads and cam but after I went with the 90mm setup I went back for a dyno run and tune and all they need to do is add fuel and the car runs great so there wasn't any tuning issue's.

My friend has an auto, and he gained 28 rwhp, but getting a little bit bigger cam and then 90/90 setup. That was with a stock maf, stock heads car. He has a the 85 mm maf now and I'm not sure what he has now. I'm all for the 90/90 setup. On a FI car, it is yeilding no gains though. MTI tried it on a procharged car and there was a 1 hp difference.

I say go with the 90mm. You'll definitely see gains over the LS6, its almost written in stone by now. Its on the list of upgrades that will be undertaken once my finances recover from my wreck and the new rear end that I'll need by this spring.

You really need to look at the thread below:

I bet it would work out exactly the same.

ANOTHER USER-thanks for the thread. verry interesting...well...i'm not willing to spend the $1,200 to find out if i'll slow down too. i'll just spend the money on light weight mods. hay,a newer set of heads might be nice too. thanks all, mike c.
