video problems

video problems Can someone here help me? When I try to watch a video on windows media player or msn video it all bright green and pink and you really can't make out what your watching. Can anyone help me out? Thanks

Sounds like you're just viewing the audio portion of a video that your Media Player can't read. Either that or the video is corrupted in some form or another. It may also be possible you're not on a current version of the player.
If you're on WinXP, go to your "my documents" folder, click on "my music" and play one of the default songs. Do you get the same green/pink screen? Does it move around like a lava lamp?

Well, you're not helping at all. You need to be more specific and tell more information.
1) What Operating system are you using? What version of Media Player are you using?
2)Are you using windows media player?
3) Do you have a current version of anti-virus?
4)Do you have a current version of some type of spyware scan?
5)Do you update them weekly?
6)Were you able to watch videos prior to xx/xx date?
7)Did you download new software that might have corrupted or took the default place of media player?
These are the questions you need to ask yourself, as well as, have an answer, before anything can be figured out.

windows media player 10
I use norton antivirus
I use ad-aware and spy doctor
I update evey sunday
I used to be able to dont remember when
I dont think I downloading anything I shouldn't have.

John is giving good advice. We're basically trying to figure out if it's the video that won't play right, or if it's your system that won't play the video right. Try to play a different video to make sure it still works.

Try this:
Click on your drop down arrow, just to the left of your minimize button. Click on "tools" then click "options". Go over to the tab labeled "file types" and click it. Are all the default file checked? Every one of them should be checked.
Next, go over to the next tab over - "network". Make sure the 4 types of protocols are checked, these are: multicast, UDP, TCP, HTTP.
Try that and see how it works. Have you done a recent scan for Spyware?
