Default 03 cobra vs. me

Finnaly had the chance to go up against a 03 cobra dont know what his mods are but i was on the bottle. We went from a 10 mile per hour roll, honked 3 times and off we went both of us were spinning bad and about even until I hit second and my tires barely chirped and just took off. i think he was still spinning when he hit second so i put at least a car to one and a half cars on him and kept that distance till about mid third. When he started to creep back up we let off at about 120 with me only being about a half car infront. I was hoping to do alot better but that thing flies up top.

Damn, with all the mods you have and you were spraying, he must also have a bunch of mods. Nice kill.

he probably had something done. A stock '03 wont hang that well agiasnt a 100 shot LS1. My friends '99 with a 75 shot was beating stock ones pretty bad.

Good Kill

Damn, nice kill, I cant beleive he was starting to reel you back up top, then again 450rwhp is cheap to get in a 03 cobra.

Nice kill. He probably had a pulley and a CAI with exhaust. You can get around 450 rwhp with little effort in the Cobras. I'm guessing he probably had ~480 rwhp to start reeling you in like that.

Sounds just about right for an 03 Cobra with the usual mods. Nice kill via catching traction first.

Good kill, time for headers and a cam. And you can tell by my sig that I particularly like to hear threads like this. It helps me decide which one I want.

I'll have to dig up the slip. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to 1/8th mile...just 60', ET, and trap speed. I'm very consistent once out of the hole so 60' pretty much determines everything for me.

That was on a 1.68 60 footer. I remember that.

Cobra's weigh 3665 no driver. That's about 150-200lbs heavier than a LS1. But power comes much easier. I made 470whp, 495trq with full exhaust, a K&N filter, upper pulley upgrade and a chip.

Mine weighs 3,600lbs with no driver.

99-LS1-SS - Trap speed was only 123mph back then. Skillz to pay the billz.

I didn't realize you drove a 03. Cool. I have no clue what mine weighs.. I have a sub in the back and whatnot so it doesn't really matter. What mods do you have done, Unit?

Thats for sure if you were pulling those times with that amount of power.

Basically all the bolt ons (including a ported blower) and a big shot of spray. It makes over 500rwhp off the hose. The driver mod is the most important. It seems that very few people actually know how to drive these things.

I completely agree with you. There are some people that are trapping running low 12s 116-117 with all the bolt ons, a 2.80 and some DRs.. while others are running mid 11s with the same setup, trapping 3-5mph higher. What's up with that?

I have still yet to take mine to the track so I really have no room to say anything until I get that timeslip in my hand.

I'm thinking about either porting the stock blower and adding a lower pulley or doing the nitrous.. or just adding the lower and do the nitrous. But it'll be a small shot.

HAHA, never heard that one.....

Have heard: dope, juice, gas, NOS, spray, bottle, giggle gas and a couple others, but if not for the fear of sounding ghey.......I would say I like "hose".
