Default I post when I win so...

only fair to post when I lose. Lost for the first time in the TA today, and I knew I'd lose before the race even begain. Stoplight run against an evo, on cold pavement. I knew I wouldn't have traction, but I underestimated just how little I'd have. Launched at like 1/4 throttle and stepped on it too soon. Opps there goes the rear end sideways... and by the time I got hooked up he was at least 4 or 5 car lengths ahead.

************ wouldn't run me from a roll though, big suprise.

Frustrating as all **** too, cause I know that if we'd been able to run em out a bit, I could have at least made back a few of those car lengths before common sense brought us down to normal speeds... but we were in a 35mph zone.

It was kinda funny that he must have been launching at higher than 5 grand and I launched at about 1200. I do respect AWD. I was shopping for a DSM when I originally found the mustang gt.

It's too damned cold to be racing right now, at least for those of us that have to endure winter.

No big deal on the loss. Shake it off and move on.

yeah and most people dont know how to lauch those things either it is a tough one to get back on top of when the driver knows how to launch and when people have RW drive cars we all know launching is our bane so like unit said no biggie go bust his *** when it warms up again or from a roll

I agree, they won't race you. I was on the highway with one. Granted I have a slightly modified LT1 that runs lows 13s. On the highway, I was racing home one night. For some reason, this dude thought he was going to stay with me. With 2.73s, I was inching away and then it stayed paced with me at 150 when I let off. I had 4 cars on him. From a dig, I only have 2.73s so I don't know if I would get the launch, on the street rolling, it's a whole different race.

What's this winter you speak of? Still 55-60 here . Nice death. He'll prolly think you modded next time you run him if you hook.

Bah, It was my fault. I pushed the car too hard too early. I've been practicing my launching recently just to make sure.

Raced annother TA today. a 96/97 WS6 (those were the years they made em, right?). it was a complete dead heat up till we let off at 140. I call it a tie. I was suprised, I thought the ls1 had better top end than even the ram air LT1, but I didn't get a chance to talk to the guy so who knows.

140 is the fastest I've ever gone, all I have to say about it is brake fade is a bitch.

Geez man, 0-140, thats a heck of a long race. I bet that feels good though, its rare you get a chance to run that long (unless of course you can hit 140 in the 1/4 )

It's possible, I don't know enough about evos to tell if it was modded. It didn't SOUND excessivly loud when he was revving, and I have to imagine the first things import guys do to a turbo car are FAT catback and loud blow-off valve, so I just assumed it was stock. If it was, I'm pretty sure that I'd have him once we were under way. Don't those things run about 13.5 @ 99mph or so stock? I thought their good 1/4 time was all due to awesome 60' time...

The race to 140mph started around 70mph, but yeah it was still a good long run. Of course it didn't SEEM like a long run. heh.

Nice! Well I spanked one bad on the track the other night granted it was his first time tho so I felt bad. But here is what I found on a local board he posted....I give him credit to publicly state he got beat by a Chick which was me. I did correct him on the other forum that my car is a T/A

R/T: .267
60': 2.314
330: 5.929
1/8: 8.892
MPH: 81.73
1000: 11.450
1/4: 13.592
MPH: 105.50

I didn't want to launch the car very hard so I slipped it at about 3-4k and I shifted easy because hell this was my 1st time so I wanted to take it easy lol. Also on this 1st run I went up aganist a chick in a camero who ran a 12.3@114. Here are the results for my 2nd run:
My time
60' 1.816
330 5.166
1/8 7.989
MPH 89.57
1000 10.386
12.380 @ 114.43

I checked out even though he got to go out first on a 13.50 dial to my 12.50 which I broke out

Here is his post on the Evo forum with his listed mods. Check around you can see what they do run.
