11's again, 11.73 SI, 1.500 60 ft!
After I was showing cord on IllusionalTA's ET streets and the EFA TNT I ponied up and bought a brand new set of Prostars with MT ET street drag radials. I got it all mounted up and headed to Cecil today with 1BADLS1 and IllusionalTA (along with my wife, son, and meighbor). We decided to leave at 0400 to get there in time. It was a haul! I had planned on going to NY to visit Steve's dad after, but plans changed!
We pulled in, changed the tires, and pulled out the front passenger seat. I was going to leave it in, but a buddy started wrenching. Everything else was in the car except the spare and front sway. I even left to floormats in
The first pass out I left at 2500, the tires hooked sweet, but the car seemed to miss a bit at the top. It ran 11.98 with a 1.54 60ft, a new best 60, but I knew it had more.
I pulled around again (no cool down) launched at 3000 RPM again with a dead flat hook. The nose popped way up and then it bounced about 3 times as it slammed back down. I knew it felt great, and the time slip showed it! 11.731 @ 113.81 with a 1.500 short time :drivin: All I can say is the new radials are amazing! They stick like glue! However, they are not for 10 bolt use!
Here is the launch:

And here is a video for you all!

I let Steve take a few passes, he decided to try a cut out closed run, Mac93Z had asked what difference the cut out made. Steve did a 1.51 short time and ran to 11.84.
He pulled around and I told him to nail it, we stiffened the front shocks a click and he lined up for a 3500 launch. The car dead hooked again, the BOOM! And didn't move There was no fluid under the car, but it would not roll back. They jacked it and pulled it back to the line, and then we found that the car would go in 1 or 2, but was clunking when it went around turns. Since I drove the car up we decided to wrap it up and try to get home before it got too late. We swapped the tires and started driving home. The car drove OK straight, but clunked real hard in a turn. It was worse turning left. The car would shift into D and OD once it was rolling, but only by manually going through the gears. We are guessing maybe the shift solenoids since everything shifts OK doing it manual, but it needs some investigation. Looks like time for a 12 bolt! All in all the day was a blast. The car ran amazing, looks like time for a little mild lightening, 90/10 shocks, and a rear upgrade. I am still not updated, maybe now that I am deeper in the 11's they'll pay attention :-)

Man!!! That an excellent 60'. Sorry to here about you problem. A bubby of mine broke his 12bolt. It would drive good stright but in turn's would clunk. The left spider gear broke 2 to 3 teeth.

I forgot to take any stills of it on the prostars before I packed up and went home. They look nice!
The 4200 is just fine in daily traffic. I have a 60 mile round trip commute to work and it is my daily driver. It takes a little more gas pedal to get it up to speed, but once it locks up it is almost like a normal car.

Man that launch looked awesome. Sorry to hear about the tranny and rearend. Thats what I'm scared is going to happen when I go to the track. I was suprized how fast that little truck was, with a 11.73 I thought you were going to kill it. I guess you never know what your up against. Nice runs.

The car dyno'd at 346 RWHP. I have ASP, Hooker LT, t-byrne MAF ends, Borla, Lid, free mods, full BMR rear suspension, QA1's with front drag springs, stock rear springs, Right rear airbag, and a Yank SS4200. THe car is full weight, 3600+ lbs. I have done my own LS1 edit tune.
