Default I DID IT----->10's Today At Atco!!!!

So we got the car done (FAST LSX/FAST 90) along with removing 30lbs and drove her around Thur night just to check the tune.I called SLOWHAWK and he gave me a tweeked tune for the FAST setup and we loaded her onto the trailer last night with just a prayer.

We cut it short but got every thing done and we were ready to race.Well the weather was okay but the BARO wasnt too good and resulted in -100DA's threwout the day.Still all in all we were happy with this DA becuase it was close to the DA (0) we had on the last time we went to Atco running my LS6/PTB setup and figured this would be a good test of the new intake system.

Well I went out 1st and made a run
My best pass to date in the car is 11.3@119 so I was hoping for at least .1 out of the LSX/90?I didnt know what to expect and just went out and stood on it.I went in and did my burnout then right to the line and came out at 2600 rpm.The car came up pretty good and slammed me into the seat and made a small turn to the right which I corrected and rode it out to the end.

I could tell the intake made a difference right away as I was comming to the time slip booth and looked down at the slip and it read:

1.52
7.09
96.25
11.18
121.02
Race Weight 3590lbs

WOO HOO!!!
I was in shock, the car picked up almost .2 with the LSX/90 and my tune was alittle lean in the middle rpm.So I made a change via EDIT and quick cell call to SLOWHAWK and went back out and made another pass.

1.50
7.07
96.28
11.17
121.23
Race Weight 3590lbs...

I couldnt believe a S1 LS6/TR224 setup could run this well but it did and I'm one happy guy tonight.SLOWHAWK IS THE MAN,He has helped me with my car since I took the CARTEK S2X OFF MY CAR and went to a CLOSED LOOP TUNE/MILD SETUP.

Thanks Don u are the best!!!

Well I knew if I wouldve had some killer Atco air the car has a 10 Sec pass in it even with my fat *** but I knew it just wasnt gonna happen. The track prep was poor compared to my rental day 3 weeks ago and I figured I needed a person who was lighter than------>360lbs

The weather started to warm up but the DA still hovered around -100 and just as I was ready to make another run I see Tommy/TALONWS6 and asked him to make 2 runs while I just sit back and check out the car.He jumped at the chance and went out with the tweeked tune in her and came out at 2600 rpm.

Results
1.48
6.95
97.69
10.96
123.08
Race weight 3365lbs

TENZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ I was very excited and was jumping up and down but Tommy had other plans as he went around and came out at 2800 rpm for one more pass....

Results
1.47
6.90
98.44 New Best
10.89 New Best
123.73 New Best
Race Weight 3365lbs

I was in shock,to think a MILD setup like this (nothing more than a TR224 cam and locally ported S1 LS6 heads along with the LSX/90TB) could run this well in 0 DA's and run upper 123MPH threw an A4 and 6500 shifts left me alittle in

I'm not taking anything away from Cartek but there S2X setup I had didnt even come CLOSE to this new setup.I couldnt get anything better than a 11.14@122 LOCKING THE VERTER in -400 DA's shifting the car at 7000RPM!!!

Oh and remember this was a shortblock that had 3 dead holes,Right Dave
I guess it wouldve ran 9's if all 8 pistons were firing properly.

Anyway some thanks go out to a few people....

C.M. MACHINE HEADS ROCK
SLOWHAWKS TUNING ROCKS

Thanks to my Boss,My pal Pete for porting the LSX,Jerry for modding my 90 TB and Tommy for comming down and running the car at a legit weight.

Any of u guys wanting or thinking about putting the LSX/90 on your car DO IT NOW.Its worth power even on a mild setup like mine so on your setups its worth power too,Just do the tweeks to the TB,tweek the tune, and add fuel this baby loves it

Think I'm happy..
Next week we go for 10.60's

Joel brother, those milestones are something to savor! You've worked hard for years to get there. You've now proven to yourself and everybody else that you don't need a stupidly huge cam or a flyweight car to hit 10s...just smarts and the right combination of parts. Well done!

Congratulations on the 10s!

I am running a similar combo and this past Friday with a race weight of 3350 in -523 DA the best I could run was as below.

60’……….1.57
330’………4.524
1/8………...7.04
mph………..97.28
¼…………..11.08
mph………...121.44

I have a few questions about your setup.
What size converter are you running?
What gears are you running?
What are your suspension mods?

Thanks

John

Thanks for the info.

Are you running the stock rear sway bar?

Does the Jay Fisher "Stealth" adj. torque arm mount to the transmission tail shaft?

Thanks

It mounts to a crossmember,it runs rod ends.I'm using the stock rear sway but I followed Madmans adjustment procedures using scales and my Hal to put more force on the R. rear spring.
