Default 05' Mustang goes down at the strip

Ran a brand new GT at South Georgia Motorsports Park (cecil) today. Sharp car, white, factory stock 5(6?)speed manual. I talked to him after, it was his best run of the night, and my worst of the night. He was a great driver.

He ran

60' - 1.877 (on STOCK tires!)
1/8 - 8.520
1/8 MPH - 81.11
1/4 - 13.35
1/4 MPH - 101.58

to my

60' - 1.751
1/8 - 7.968
1/8 MPH - 88.02
1/4 - 12.495
1/4 MPH - 108.27

My best run of the night is in sig. Had fun, Need to put in the 4.11s I have sitting in my bedroom, stock gears are absolutely murdering my times with the big cam. Looking for 11s after XMas

1.87 on stock tires??? Daymn!! Track musta been sticky! I'm pretty sure new stangs are a 5-speed manual. Was the air really good, b/c he was definately using every ounce of hp based on the time and mph!

they have some goofy traction controll thing that stops them from spinning. not sure if it would allow it to sixty like that or not. hot rod mag got one to go 12.30 at 111. after a cold air and an exaust they put down 299rwhp and 318tq. not bad considering they took 380lbs off of the 3500lb base weight.

The 05' stangs have a neet 3 link suspension that works pretty well. lots of guys are cutting in the 1.8-1.9 60' on stock tires. Although i haven't seen many break the 100mph barrier in the 1/4. most seem to go 98-99mph. I did see one at Moroso friday night that went 14.0 @ 102mph but i don't know if it was stock or not.

no i mean 12.30! they took off 380lbs, added 25hp, skinnies and slicks, lowered the front by like 4in and launched at like 5G's. 12.30 is what they ran with a best 60ft of 1.60. it took quite a bit of money but it worked. this is in the jan. 05 issue. look for it
