Default Will I make 400rwhp?

I am installing a TSP 225 cam kit, UD pulley, LT headers, and Y-pipe. The car dynod 315rwhp/229rwtq with lid and cat back. That was before the ls6 intake, ported TB, off dyno tune and 4.10s. But has picked up 3mph since then. So I am figureing the rwhp to be around 330-340. The car went 109.40. Do you guys think that the new mods will put me at or near the 400rwhp mark. I will have the dyno numbers next week but wanted to get some opinions for now.

probably not without a good set of heads added to your mods list.

I think Gomer made 440rwhp with the PRC s2 heads and that cam. I could be mistaking the person but that is the cam. Can some s2 heads be worth 50rwhp? If not 400 then how much?

I would say any "stage 1" type heads will make everything in your combo perform better....especially your cam. Most cars I have seen with your mods and a set of good heads put down 420 or so. My Z had a 588/567/ 228/224 on a 112lsa and with the stock heads which I "lightly" ported and polished put down 404/387. That is with long tubes, no cats, all the standard bolt ons and some decent tuning with LS1 edit. Is was an M-6 and a Moser with 4:30's.

It will be close. TSP228R here 388RWHP. Someone with duals and this cam made like 411rwhp. I bet you will be in the 380s

Thanks guys. It seems to be a slightly better cam than the TR 224 and those numbers seem to vary from 380 to 400rwhp. I have the Hooker cat back which they say is good for 450rwhp. I have had big cams in the past and it gets old after a while. Especially with 3" duals and an X pipe. I will be very pleased with any thing over 380rwhp. As long as I can trap 115 with just a cam and bolt ons I will be content. I am waiting for the PRC 2.5's to come out before I invest in heads. I figured the mods on the low side would be worth:
LT's = 20
Y = 5
Cam = 30
UD = 5

Your estimates look about right.I would figure 380-390rwhp with your setup.

I think the 98' heads are what will hurt me the most right now. When I changed manifolds I noticed the intake port were caked with oil from the PCV system I presume. When I get heads I am going to block that crap off with breathers. I will let you guys know the results in a week or so.

I am thinking 385 to 390 is possible. Gomer did make some good #'s with that cam and heads awhile back. I also saw another Vette graph that made 437 with the 225 cam and heads.

I am installing the stuuff in my sig that includes the 225 cam and hope to do at least 420
and close to 400 Tq. I may try a f13 or 233 torquer if I don't make my # though!

Good luck, I made 380 373 with my T1 cam with stock 98 heads and hooker catback so you should do at least 380 with a tune.

Do you have cats? I only made 365 thru my cats. I took them off and opened the cutout and made 380. Also, the car trapped at 115 a few times with stock gears with that power so you will be in the neighborhood of that easy. Let us know!

The 229rwtq was obviously a miss print. Sorry about that. 329 is what I ment to print.

Apexman. I am almost done with the instal. I have been waiting on the sping tool from a friend. That and my Y-pipe won't slide over the headers. I will have to widen it out tomorrow. I am starting to think it was more trouble than it will be worth. But I am sure I will change my mind when I fire it up tomorrow.

I do have two Random tech 3" cats on the Y pipe I have now. But I am not going to put them on the new one unless I have to. I will have the car tuned with out them and possibly add them later. I have ran Randoms on other cars with more power and haven't noticed any ill effects. Could be an interesting test though.

What are your impressions of the 225 cam? Drivability, fuel milage, low rpm pull, lope. Things like that. You seem to like it if you are putting it in your new ride. I don't want any thing to lopey or shaky. I have been that route before. Last cam would rattle your teeth and you couldn't even hear your self think. Well any way I will post up some numbers as soon as I get them. Should be late Monday.

Eric: I have a big block 69 Camaro for a window shaker. I just want a nice daily driver. Ported heads will come. I think 420/430rwhp will just about do it.

Heh, you think you'll stop at 420 rwhp, trust me, once you get it, you want more. And eventually, you'll want a window shaking ls1. Its addicting. I hit close to 400 rwhp with my setup with stock tb, no pulley, no water pump, and stock rocker arms. I think you can get 400 with the right tune. Good luck man.
