...without being a tin can/striped car? I havent had the car on the scale lately, but Im sure its somewhere in the 32XX range. I know a lot of 01-02 owners out there brave enough to shift their cars at 7100-7200 rpms, but for those 2000 model owners as myself, I am only looking to shifting the car at 6600 rpms with a 6900 rpm rev limiter. Do you think its possible to run low 11s/high 10s shifting at 6600 rpms?

I'll say yes,For instance my car with me in it weighs 3590 and just ran 11.17@121
I figure at 3550 and alittle be air and it'll run 10.99999
Anything over 3500 is heavy and theres a few guys that have run 10's at that weight or even alittle higher.
Now if u build a stroker or all bore it'll be a piece of cake at 3600lbs.
Hope that helps...

This is a LT1 though. I ran 10.98 and the air shifter is set at 6600. The 1 to 2 shift is a little late at about 6900. the 2 to 3 is right on. I cross the traps at about 6800-7050.

I ran 11.19 at a 3450 raceweight so long ago I'm suprised I remember. This was also on drag radials. Futral fm4 cam shifted at about 6500-6600.
I later went a 10.98 on slicks and at a 3300 raceweight.
You shouldnt fret the stripped car thing. What difference does a back seat make when you have 4.10s, a 4400 convertor and no emmissions equipment whatsoever? Oh yeah, when people speak of raceweight that means car AND driver.

It is still very possible my car only made about 450 rwhp there are several cam only cars making that kinda power and my car weighs 3400 lbs.....

@ 3200 r/weight I have seen a large number of folks go low 11's, and a few go hi 10's.

Tell me about the abuse on drivetrain with heavy weight. I've busted 2 torque arms, two drive shafts, 1 12bolt and ripped the M6 in half (main shaft) thats why I went to a Th400 and started gutting the car

Exactly,I fuigure my car is probably around 430RW,I'm not breaking any records with that power but I feel that less weight combined with my HP is the way to go.I can run 10's all day long and not be hard on the drivetrain with 430RW.I can still run a 4L60e which I've been running for a long time now (60 runs) and it hasnt missed a beat.I'm not killing the 12-bolt and I only shift the car at 6500.
I have the best setup for dragracing,Light car with decent hp.
So far the cars run flawlessly and I hope to honestly get her down to 3500 with me (360lbs) in the seat and around 3300lbs with a light (150lb) driver in the seat.
I've been bablling for months about getting in shape and starting today I'm doing it.I will not eat junk, drink soda, and I will ride my stationary bike for 30min. a day.I feel 7lbs a month are realistic and I hope to drop 80lbs in about a yr.
