Default LSX intake installed tonight, hearing a whistle? anybody hear of this?

Just put on LSX90mm intake and ls2 90mm tbody on my z06, head and cam car. Idles smooth, pulls real hard up top. But I hear what seems to be a "whistling" sound. I can hear it when cruising at around 20-30mph , sounds like a belt squealing or idler going bad, but I've never had any noises on my car at all. If car is idling with hood up at idle speed I don't hear it. If I rev car to 2-3k I hear the whistle start slowly then it goes away as revs drop back to idle. ANybody hear of this at all????
thanks, damon

Adjust your idle screw more open to lower your IAC counts around 40-80.

Hahaha, doh! Didn't pay attention to what it was on obviously. Maybe a vacuum leak then? Only time I have heard a whistle like that is when the IAC motor is wide open because the idle set screw is too low or there is a vacuum leak.

Wiggle the map sensor and see if the whistle persists.

Lightbulb

Did you use any foam or padding underneath the FAST LSX when installing it?
The LS6/LS1 intakes had those two strips of foam on the bottom and the FASTs don't, I have heard that not having it can cause a sort of 'hollow' resonance or possibly a squeak.

Marc is correct,it can whistle if u dont add the padding to the bottom of the intake.FelPro had it in the intake gasket kit when I bought the new intake gaskets.

There is a tweek to the TB that can be done too as I've talked to a few guys that told me u can get a whistle from it but I dont know the fix.I'll try and find out for u and post up.

You may have a leak somewhere on the intake. I know a lot of f-bods get it with lid swaps and such, either due to imprecise fit or just simply more airflow throught he intake.

syclone, did you ever find the origin of the whistle? my FAST 90 is behaving/whistling EXACTLY like you've described.

Did you silicone you map sensor in and put foam padding on the bottom of the intake? If not better do it, I did when I installed mine and I don't have any whistle coming from mine.

Both of those require pulling the intake off. Doh.
Really didn't want to have to do that, but if this persists, I will.
