Is Vig 2800 Right For Me
Hello all I am A New Member To Ls1 Tech. I Have A 2002 Camaro Z28 A4 With 2.73 Gears. Would A Vig 2800 Be A Good Choice For Me. I Only Visit The Local Track A Few Times A Year. I Want To Maintan Good Driving Manners, But Have Just A Little More Punch Out The Hole. Car Is Stock With A Magnafow Muffler , And Whisper Lid. I have gone a best of 13.43 at 104 mph in the 1/4 with my basic setup. Any Advice Would Be Appreciated.

PI makes excelent converters. A lot of folks will tell you to step it up to a 3200, but if yours is just a driver i'd say go for the 2800. It'll be a huge improvement over the stock converter. I have a 3200 and anything under 40mph street tires are pretty useless

Get a bigger one or you will be sorry. I just stepped up from a 3000 to a 3800 and it is still a great daily driver IMHO.
Oh and if you want a Yank 3000TT with 2.5 STR PM me.

OK im new also at the stall converter stuff i had a built 5 speed in my iroc. So when you get a stall does it mean every single time you step on the gass the R's will hit w.e the stall is rated at? or that only apply's when your off the line and want to stall it with the brake?

No it will go higher but it kind of is dependent of a lot of things. The stock stall is like 1900 but you car starts moving BEFORE that right? (Brake vs. Flash stall) Here is a good read:

I was confused at first and worried to much about getting to big of a stall. Actually the 3000TT hits nicer down low but the new SS3800 feels better up top.

The 2800 isn't a bad converter... but everyone I've known with one, upgraded or had it restalled ($$$).
