Default Factory Fuel Pressure Regulator:

I'm going to pull/replace the factory regulator. That is, when I figure out where it is exactly Is it in the tank?

Also...Can anyone identify some of the items on top of the fuel tank? At first glance, some of it looks a bit unnecessary. I haven't gotten into it all to trace lines yet, so identifying some of the pieces before I get in there again would be helpful. I'm getting the pull some of the useless junk GM put in these cars itch again. This is pretty much a racecar, so any smog parts in that mess can go.

Plug of the day...I'd like to again recognize Racetronix for the quality of their PNP fuel pump kits. Very simple plug'n'play install-EVERYTHING is included.

Couldn't tell you what the rest of the stuff is, but I gotta agree with you on the Racetronix PnP fuel pump kit. I just got mine 2 days ago

I believe the regulator is in the tank above the pump.

On my '98 it's like this, looking at the pump to where the lines come out on top....1st line is return fuel from the tee side of the tee just before your stock fuel filter ( this line has your intank regulator on it), 2nd line is the tank vent, 3rd line is your main feed fuel line, 4th line is the evap line.
Hope this helps,
John.

If the '98 configuration was the same as the '99-02, it certainly would help out a lot. I know the pumps are different. Perhaps everything else is the same (?). I'll check it out. Thanks!

On 99 and up there are 3 lines. From left to right (on the sending unit) on they are feed, evap, return. You can remove the evap system from the car completely if you remove all the codes for it. The evap canister on the tank can be removed completely in that case, and the big line going to it can be left open to act as a vent line. The factory regulator is un the under side of the factory sending unit assemble on the retun line. It looks like the pulse dampener you see on the stock fuel rail. It unclips very easily, just watch out to make sure you get the o-ring and screen that are in it. This is how I have it on my car...

can you bypass the stock fuel regulator and then just put one up where the fuel line goes into the rails?

You sure can. That was the original plan.

xssive: Thanks!
