I just pulled my cam so now would be a good time to remove the A/C system if I want to. It has been uncharged since I installed the cam, and I have maybe used it once before...

Leave it or take it off? Any pics of the A/C delete?


I just dont want it too look like it's been ripped apart.....? What's it weigh, about 50 lbs?

Not much to take a pic of, it's just not there anymore. There are two holes on the firewall thats it. Mine weighed approx 31 lbs that's with the condenser, all brackets/bolts etc. I like my car without it, a lot better access to the passenger side header/spark plugs. Pulled fuses and wire tied the connector to another wire.

i chucked mine to save the weight since i never use it anyway. plus it free's up space for a future dry sump setup.

If you never use get rid of it. Mine was a touch under 30lbs. If you keep it all intact you can part it out, I think I wound up with $350 or so in the end. Also cleans up the engine bay nicely too.

If you take off the compressor, what belt or part # of the belt to get since the belt will be to big?

The compressor has it's own belt so it won't affect anything when you take it off. I just cut mine and pulled it off.

pull it!!!! i pulled it and EGR and AIR and washer fluid tank.... much more cooling area
around the radiator!

If you don't use it toss it out. I need mine in the summer. I couldn't imagine driving without it.

T-tops is a wonderful thing, i just yanked mine out. did it during my lunch break at work and used 1 car ramp to get underneath, the compressor was a bitch to get out but i managed after i removed one of the hoses off of it. takes all of 30 minutes tops

Geez, washer fluid tank?! You guys are getting extreme with your !mod list. Less is not always better. More power to you, though.

i removed my washer tank the other day. i hated the way it looked, and i never used it. and it weighed more than 0 lbs . it always made my windshield seem shittier lol. our windshields are so slanted that most everything that hits them just bounces off. my !mod list is growing nicely, i'd like to do the ole !pcv myself. i hate clutter!!

as far as my a/c is concerned, it will stay, even if the ls1 goes southeast texas sucks, i have to chop a hole in the air whenever i want to drive my car somewhere. if anything, i would remove my heater and a/c, i hardly ever use that thing.

Texas here too...I would never remove it. I might remove the heater though. I've never used it. I wonder how much the heater stuff weighs????

i didnt think it was extreme at ALLL??? extreme would be removing the stereo,seats, bumber supports, winsheild wiper arms and carpet.....
