Sweet thunder, bullet, or flowmaster single muff on the end of my ofy pipe?
take ur pick? a 18 inch bullet, a 18 inch sweet thunder or a flowmaster series one on the end of my mac y pipe??? i can either put it on the end of the ypipe which is 2.5 inch where my cutout is about another foot back on 3.5 inch pipe.. think im just going to put it on the end of the y if it doesn't make a difference, so i can sale my cutout and catback without cutting on it?
so which muffler will sound the best this way? teh reason im doing this is with the current setup there is no way to get rid of the raspyness with teh b&b catback, the way it is there is no way to adjust it to keep it from banging of the car at certian rpms? which muffler?

u feel it would not be a raspy or *** sounding as the bullet? the reason i posted is becuase ls1 sounds doesn't do them justice, tho it is helpful i wanted some ppl with first hand experience.. also, where is the best place to order them?? where can i get a turndown thingy as well?
if all else fails and its still to raspy.. i will just buy another of whichever muffler and run duals.. ill prolly do that eventually anyways, but for now 70$ for a muffler is a lot cheaper .

my vote is for a bullet muffler. I have on on my TSP rumbler and it sounds great and isn't raspy plus I've heard the bullet mufflers on a TD setup on an Ls1 and they souded great. no rasp at all.

You will prolly still have some rasp with the Y pipe. If I were you I would cut the Y, and run two pipes into an X then come out into two Sweet thunders. I did mine today, I was sick of the rasp with the MAC's and Borla. I have zero rasp and I love the sound.

really how hard did u find this to do? yea the mac y pipe sux period but i like the ported mac headers, picked them up at a great great price so cant complain.. this was actually my origonal idea! which x pipe piece did you use? which mufflers? got pix of placement??
im just scare it would be hard to find pipe to be a perfect fit to run into a x, and then were would i put the mufflers? also confused on how this might interfere with a future ds loop ect.

I used a Magnaflow Tru X and Sweet Thunder mufflers. Your not gonna find a piece of pipe that will bolt directly up, Its gonna have to be done at a muffler shop, where someone can bend the pipes to make it work. I know a guy at a muffler shop here in town, I bought the X and the mufflers and he did it for $100 bux, including the pipe.
I dont have any pics yet, I will try to take some as soon as I can.

I've had all three mufflers. And I can tell you by far the Sweet Thunders sound the best. Nice big block, old school, deep, throaty sound. Absolutely nothing like the bullets that came on my TSP duals and throatier than a Flowmie.
Get the Sweet Thunder, you definitely won't be disappointed.

im leaing towards the borla xr1's.. the bullet shaped ones.. supposedly there straight thru like teh bullets, but dont have the raspy sound.. the sweet thunders look like they have all that packing and junk inside them that makes them sound good but dont know how well it flows.
