Default Neighbor wrecked his 5.3l tahoe and will let me have engine parts. What should I take?

Like title stated. What parts off of a 2002 5.3l truck engine will work/swap on a 99' 5.7l engine?

Definitely get the heads and coil packs. The heads will need to be ported to do you any good though.

If you have a '99 5.7L Tahoe engine then nothing off his 5.3L will work. They are two totally different engines. The '99 is based off the gen I/II small block while the 5.3L is based off the newer Gen III LSx based small block.

Still, get the whole engine if you can and sell it.

There were no 5.7L engines in tahoes. I think he is refering to swapping over to his 99 f-body with a 5.7. The heads are good if ported and the coil packs. All the covers, front, rear, valley, and so on are good if you ever do a motor build.

DOH!

I got things way mixed up, I was thinking(for whatever reason) he was trying to get parts of a 5.3L Tahoe for a '99 5.7L Tahoe. In '99 the Tahoes still came with a 5.7L 350.

I have the throttle body off a 5.3 as well as the intake manifold, fuel injectors still mounted with the fuel rails, coils, valve covers. the coils are different on a 5.3 but should work with yours. the throttle body is the same, the valve covers are nearly the same with one difference being the passenger side doesn't have a provision for the pcv like the ones on an f-body. I intend to sell mine just haven't got around to it yet.
