Default Lightweight battery vs battery in trunk?

What is recommended?

Lightweight battery, or a full size battery mounted in the trunk? Ive heard that lightweight batteries cant start the car from the trunk.

Whats everyone here using?

i did the dynabatt under the hood, saves tons of money on relocating everything and the battery is light so it saves in weight also.

JS, explain why I should have put it in the right side.

These cars already naturally slam that side down in the launch and twist the car through the 60 foot...adding a bunch more weight over there will only compund that problem.

I put my battery on drivers side a couple years ago and immediately noticed the car launching much more evenly. I do not nor have ever needed airbags like so many other folks to keep the car level, been a pretty neat trick for me so far that alot of other folks that have seen the car have done as well..took a good bit more work to make that box and everything fit over there and still be able to put my t tops in but it was worth it.

take as much weight off of the front of the car as you can.

It's not worth the time and expense, don't do it.

This is what I have alwasy wondered. people always say put them on the passenger side but that is the side that squats more so why not keep more weight on the driver side to stop some of that.....but you see cars all day with them on the passenger side....

i think its a matter of first logic and convenience for folks. there is alot more room to put a battery over there and you don't need as much wire since you're running up to the passenger side of the engine compartment with it.

all i know is it has worked well for me.

bickel i hope you're kidding if you are saying it isn't worth the couple hours of time and bit of coin it takes to take all that weight off the nose of the car and put it back where it should be..

The battery in and of itself makes almost no difference, but in an effort to take lots of weight out of a car, it plays its role.

The reasoning behind that is to off-set the weight of the driver with the battery.
