An '02 Z28? Great car! Your 'Hurst short throw' was an option.

BTW, your handle is 02LSiZ28? Did want 02LS(i)Z28 or 02LS(1)Z28. The mods can fix that for you.

Goto the 'Suggestions and User Support' forum and ask a mod to fix your account name.

haha jus cuz theres an "H" on the shifter **** doesnt mean itsa hurst shifter. GM decided to say it wasa hurst short throw but jus put the **** on some of them. the only way to know is by pullin apart the center console.

...tearing apart the center console isn't going to tell you anything either...unless you know what the factory Hurst short-throw looks like because it doesn't say Hurst on it anywhere...at least mine didn't when I swapped it out.

yes...now what you all should do is search and also find a user named jrp and click on the links in his sig...it is a database of a large amount of general info...VERY HELPFUL! i cannot stress that enough...read the stickies at the top of the sections...jrp basically gathered all the frequently asked questions or general useful info and put it into one thread...look in there first..you will find most all your answers

Come on, keep asking questions. I think most guys here don't mind answering these same old questions. It makes them feel smart and gives them something to do. Hell I learned something again. I just looked at my Hurst Short Throw (I replaced it with a B&M), and it don't say Hurst on it anywhere (except the ****). And my window sticker says I payed $325 for it. Anybody want a Hurst Short Throw?

Im pretty sure that all of the cars that came with the Hurst shifter had the H on the shift ****. The cars that did not come with the Hurst shifter just have a round ball for the shift ****

Yeah... all M6 cars came with 3.42s from the factory. Unless the previous owner simply put a Hurst shift **** on the shifter :which I doubt:, then most likely it has the Hurst Short Throw Shifter installed.

Congrats on the purchase, I still have a spot in my heart for the Camaro's ! There are times when I wish that I had gotten the Pewter '02 SS that was sitting on the lot right beside of the Trans AM that I ended up buying.

Search for "B&M Ripper" and then search for "Pro 5.0". Read everyone's opinions and then decide for yourself. It would really be beneficial to read the posts of those who have driven both. I've only used the Ripper so I couldn't tell you which one is better.
