Default I Passed Emissions!!!

I live in New York state and they still do the sniffer test in the city and the surrounding counties until April 1. I put my cats back on the car and I just found out that I passed legit. Just thought I'd share the good news with fellow ls1 drivers, especially since I'm sure a lot of you have been in my position before and know how good it feels to get a head/cammed car through emissions. I still gotta test every year but NY is replacing the sniffer with the odbII in a few months, so i'll be alright as long as i'm not getting any trouble codes

I hit a place out in nassau county that already had the OBD-II test way back in november... apparently it dosnt matter what county you live in anymore. You could probably also take the trip to the closest upstate county and get OBD-II passed there too. Glad you passed, but just incase there's someone else reading, you might not have to deal with putting cats back on just for the test.

I passed the NY sniffer with long tubes, no cats, and gmmg. It was my buddies shop and it took like 5 times to get it to pass. I had to keep it out of overdrive to get it to pass.

The shops in the New York City Metroplolitan Area have to start odbII testing by april first but can do it earlier if they have all the equioment. I know before the odbII that cars registered in the metropolitan area couldn't get tested upstate, but they probably changed it since it's the same test now

Don't have a cam or head work yet but I will down the road so I am following this kind of thing closely.

Nice to see some fellow NY/Long Islanders in here!

Yes, I'm from Long Island too. For a few years I had to have help for my car to pass. My car is not due until April 15th. So it looks like the OBDII test will be a breeze for me to pass now.
