Question red calipers?

I’ve painted my calipers several times with red and every time the color disappears. What is the best way to paint it so it will last longer?

What kind of paint are you using? Are you sure it disappears? Maybe it just gets covered by brake dust. That's why I don't do red, because of the brake dust.

You don't say what kind of paint you've used in the past but here's a few suggestions, http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/...d=caliper+paint or VHT Brake caliper, drum, & rotor coating. You should be able to get the VHT paint from any auto parts store like an AutoZone.

That's what I used. About $40. Took a while. Had to take all wheels and calipers off at once so the paint wouldn't cure. I shaved off the casting line for the decals. They came out awesome and still red like a drunk's nose. Any caliper is going to get dirty.

I've painted calipers twice on my car so far. The first time was the stock LT1 stuff and the second time was the LS1 stuff. Both times i just went and bought a can of brake cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the caliper with an old tooth brush. Then i just painted them Red with Hi-temp engine paint i got at Autozone. I then installed a set of CAMARO caliper decals i bought from Brent on www.cz28.com and the clear coated them several times to hold the decal on. I've had painted calipers now for about 3 yrs and never a problem.

That looks mint. How about posting a larger pic of the whole car, so we can see how it looks as a whole.
