Question Keep water from dripping after wash??

Has anyone come up with a mod for a camaro to keep water from running on to the bumper for an hour after you wash it??

I am painting my car and thought this would be the time to do it. It should be as simple as a hole or groove cut where the rear body panel meets the back of the car.

Any ideas out there???

I dry the car with a leaf blower. Blows all of the water out of there.

A leaf blower is a good solution.

try using a vaccuum cleaner on all the lines one the car; the rear bumper, the fog lights, the driving lights, and the side markers, both front and back, then pop the hatch and suck all the water out from both sides there. oh, and make sure your using a vaccuum cleaner that can handle water

I always drive mine up the street and back and go WOT on the way back. Before I do any drying. You will be amazed at all the water that comes off. I rarely get water to run out of the back and the mirrors.

I used to take my car around the block right after washing it....that usually took care of all the water that was hiding in cracks, creases, etc...

Mr.Clean Auto Dry has been doing wonders for me. I hardly have to wipe any water off.

Well the leaf blower or compressed air sounds good but it seems that there should be a way of stopping the water from running onto the rear bumper after a wash.

All of the water that runs down the channel next on the inner side of the 1/4 panels ends up dripping onto the top of the rear bumper. I am sure there is a way to divert that water to run somewhere else.

I am thinking to cut or drill holes in the bumper cover or near there to drain the water. There is a lot of real estate that is unseen that could possibly help.

Maybe no one else has done this yet. If not I will come up with a solution. (yes, it bugs me!!)

I am in the process of painting my car and I have the bumpers off. I there is a time to figure this out, it is now!

Good luck with finding a way to do that cause getting the blower out and starting it every time I wash my car is more than I am willing to do. If you find a way to drill a couple of holes in unseen locations than I would be very interested. Best of Luck.

there's a space above ur taillights that allows water to run down from the channels under ur hatch when it rains. just put something above them and close ur hatch before u wash the car. also, i always open my hatch and dry all the remaining water in the channels. this seems to solve the problem.
or get a leaf blower and annoy ur neighbors.
enjoy.

after i wash mine i open the rear hatch, put a towel on each side of the rear quarter pannels, and let the water drip down and dry. this usualy helps but theres still water from the bumper that drips down.

The water runs onto the bumper, so that it doesn't accumulate around the taillights, interior etc..... Use a leaf blower, and you won't have to worry about it any more.

I use the good old leaf blower. My neighbors look at me like I'm nuts. The hell with them I say.
