Default Lid install question...

I did a search and couldnt find much.. I ordered an SLP lid from a member here but I went to install and ran into a few probs... One is what the hell is that snorkel on the right side ? and 2 how do I remove that old plug thing with the sensor from my old box just tug on it ?

You bought a lid for a '00+ car. That hole on the right side is for an air tube that was on the '00+ cars. You could try and patch it off I guess. As far as that sensor goes, try heating it up with a hair dryer. As soon as you get the rubber piece that it sits it warm it will slip out easier. As far as installing it in the new lid I've always had better luck seperating the rubber piece from the sensor itself and slipping the rubber piece into the new lid, then slipping the sensor into the rubber. They seperate without a problem. Good luck.

Just pull the rubber part out with a pair of pliers...that's what i've done on all the lid's i've installed.

ok So plug that snorkel up and then just pull out that lil sensor with some pliars.. Awesome ! thanks guys.

Does SLP make a plug for it ? If not what should i use ?

Yes SLP make's a plug for it. Just call them I'm sure they will sell you one. The sensor is going to be a pain. Get on it gently with a pair of plyer's. Start by twisting it and it will eventually works it way out.

i tore the *** outta the rubber thing around the sensor. it was like 20 degrees out when i was doing it and it was reaaaaalllly pissing my off. lol. if you mess it up, you can get a new one from a parts store

Thanks guys , Did the install today. Man it really seems like my exhaust opened up... I got shorties and SLP LM and it seems like its louder. Im not complaining hehe
