is there anything special to putting in a trans go shift kit??

Should, yeah. But the Trans-Go is the most complicated
of the kits out there, you have to take out and grind on
this spool valve etc. and this gives me (and probably
your average tranny shop) the *******. I never did get
around to doing mine (their paper instructions are lame,
by the way, and the video tape, well, hard to rewind that
to the good part when you're under the car and stuff is
going crooked).

You should find a shop that will do it no problem. I know of a shop that does them all the time, in fact the only two I know do them on their own. The TransGo problem solver kits mainly but they do the others as well.
All you need to do under the car is remove the valve body and plate, and the pressure regulator assembly.
All the valve body work is done on the bench.
You can barely get the 2-4 servo out without dropping the trans cross member. The servo needs to come apart to get it out which might be confusing if you've never seen one.
I never even bothered with the kit that has the video. The paper instructions vary in quality. I've seen three different sets of instructions for the same exact kit (700 2&3).
