Cylinder Pressure Observation On 2 T/R Cams
I just switched out a TR220-114 with a TR224-112 on a car. Just out of curiosity, I ran a compression test on one cylinder before and after the swap. With the 220 cam i had 192 psi and with the 224 cam i had 210 psi. Tests performed immediately before and after the swap. Conditions for both tests were identical. Same cylinder, same engine temp (cold) throttle body held wide open and same cranking duration. I would have thought with the 224 on a 112 lsa and more overlap, the cylinder pressure would have been less than the 220 on a 114. Anyone want to explain why?

I do not have an answer for you but your numbers seem to be in line with my TR224 114 numbers. FWIW the TR224 112 has 0* overlap and the 220 114 has -8*(none)
