4.88 too much gear?

4.88 too much gear?
is that too much ger with a 6 speed and 275/60/15? let me know what everyone thinks. the car is driven 1/2 mile to work and back. it comes out on weekend mostly!

yes, and it would be impossible to have street tire traction with 4.88. My 4.11 make traction difficult.

I will be using this combo for a short while in my '71 Camino. I'm putting in a 482 BBC and T56, and the 12 Bolt rear has 4.88s right now. Should be interesting. I will probably run a 275/60/15 rear for a little while. This is no longer a drag car, just a cruiser/show car. Ultimatly I will likely install 3.73s or 4.11s.

I believe a 27" ET Drag would be best for you at the track. Those M/T ET Radial Drags are 26" tall. That's alot of gear for those tires. They will not last long running them on the street, also. They're very soft, but a GREAT track tire. WJ
