First part in reducing wheel spin is get a tire! Secondly just feather it outa the hole a bit. I had a Cam car goin 1.8's on a snow tire. So its just knowing ur car and when its gonna break the tires loose. Just sit on the stall at the line so u can preload the suspension a bit(helps hold the tire) then just give it a bit of gas then all the way down like a second later maybe sooner depending on ur car

How far apart were these runs? Weather?

You should really consider a stall, its really going to wake up your car. That should be you next mod.

runs were about 20 min apart or so. Weather was in the 50s. Burnouts didn't affect times at all. i remember tire pressure usually didn't make a difference. What should i be stalling up to on the stock converter? More mods are out of the cards for right now cuause of college, but tires will be replaced when needed - you guys think i should get nittos for my dd?

NOTHING will replace a good tire and traction. spend allt he money in power and suspension if you want. you dont have the right tire and get the traction, you will be slow.

what do you suggest i do as far as the tires go then? i've seen hoosiers on a camaro with less mods that grenaded the rear end - kind of frightening. WHAT KIND OF TIRES ARE OUT THERE THAT WILL GIVE ME BETTER TRACTION!? Can anybody give me a price on a 275/40/17? I can't seem to find any prices on drag radials at all.

The tires i have on now are very similar to the firehawk sz50s that they replaced. Actually, they're even a bit softer. my tire pressures are at 35 all around with the tire max being at 52 or something. Wouldn't you consider the SZ50 to be a drag radial?

I had nittos on my DD for awhile and absolutly loved them. If I wasn't driving 500mi a week I would buy another pair in a heartbeat!

As long as you didn't do something stupid in the rain you were good. Snow, well any tire in snow is just about shitty, same goes for ice.

thanks for stepping on my hopes and dreams

It's not that I can't afford more mods, but i'm saving for other stuff right now. (College so I can make more money to do more mods )

I want to make the best out of what I have right now. If **** breaks I'll build it stronger. This only started because I have some extra power now and it is setting me back. I've never broken a 2.0 60ft and I always spin off the line atleast. Hell, with every tire I've had (crap 2x, then Firehawk SZ50, now Fuzion ZRi) I've chirped the hell out of 2nd (you know, when the car doesn't wnt to go straight anymore).

People are faster than me almost stock on this website and it ticks me off like you wouldn't believe. Please be constructive. Thanks.

You need a converter plain and simple, and when you do that you will need a drag radial nitto, BFG, M/T. Those are listed from the worse to the best traction wise. The 10 bolts seem to do pretty good on the mild auto cars. My converter would probably be rated at a 3800 and I have M/T 275-40-17 drag radials and a lid that most on here would throw away. Best pass is a 7.903 with a 1.700 60' This was in very favorable weather conditions 55 degrees 30.28 bp and 38% humidity. The track that I run at is about 400' alti.
