Default Kirkey seats and factory seat brackets?

hey guys....

i am looking into the possibility of mounting my new Kirkey's to the factory non-power seat brackets. has anyone tried this yet? i keep seeing people fabbing up their own. i am keeping my back seat for my sons to be able to go cruising with me, so i would like to keep the sliding adjusters. if the Kirkey's are narrower than the factory ones, couldn't i just use some flat stock steel, aluminum, or c/m tubing to bridge the two sides together and mount the Kirkeys to that? what are your thoughts and experiences?

thanks,
Dave

I have two kirkey seats one being a economy layback and the other a pro drag. The problem is the bottom of the seats are not flat. The pro drag has like 3 different angles to it at the bottom.

I used the racetech brackets. Give Jay Billingsly a call and talk with him. He was working on adjustable brackets for his car the last time I was down there.

My buddy made me so real simple brackets. Unfortunately, they are not adjustable

I mounted them to the stock brackets with some aluminum angle iron.

that's what i did...i just traced the bottom of the seat to get the angles, then used a press brake to make 4 "couplers" with the angles on the top, and flat on the bottom (to mate to the stock seat brackets) and welded it all together and works like a champ. ofcourse if you don't have a pressbrake to your disposal it could be a hassle.

also remember you need a back brace with aftermarket seats...makes adjustability a bit tougher
