Default FMS11 With 918 Springs

Wanting to pull TR224 and replace with a FMS11 just wondering how the 918 springs will hold up? This is an A4 full bolt on car with a TCI3500 and daily driven.

would be iffy.. if so, you may wanna replace them often depending on how much you race the car. That cam has .595 lift.. i wanna say 918's are rated at .600? or a lil over?

maybe some of the others can help you out..

I just got a F11 to replace my 224 cam, but i have dual springs though

The 918's have proven to be a great spring even with lifts at or near .600

I decided to do PRC duals with my F11 though. I thought the PRC's would decrease the chance of dropping a valve in case a 918 broke.

Just measure your 918's and if still within specs then put them back and call it a day.

The 918's should hold up fine for a while, when you start to get valve float, its time to upgrade.

I have been contemplating this swap also, what would be the gains from the FM11 over the TR224?

There was a post in the dyno section a while back with overlays of both graphs. The TR 224 had a little more torque in the midrange and the FM11 had more peak.

The graph you speak about was TR224/ FM13 and G5x2. until 5250rpm TR224 had them both.

I just did a search and found the graph, but those results cant be taken seriously as the a/f ratio was different among the 3 cams.
