ok guys. I went to the track today and ran a13.265@115.910. 60ft 2.417. 660 8.877. This is in albuquerque, nm at 5200 ft elevation which is supposed to amount to an 18% loss at the rear tires. This mph seems a little high for the altitude. I dynoed 321 sae at the rear. Im using the nx gemini wet kit with 125 hp jets(52nitrous and 28 fuel). Is it just me or does this mph look extremely high??!!According to calculations I should be at around 107 uncorrected at this elevation. Is it possible for tracks to correct speeds?

i ran an 11.4 with a 125 shot and slicks...yankin a 1.7x 60ft on stock suspension

you dynoed 321 BEFORE the 125 shot, correct? if so, then everything is on par, get that 60' down and you can definitely get low 12's.

Hey guys, his dyno was 321 SAE (corrected & without nitrous). Sorry for the confusion. His actual RWHP up here in Albuquerque (5,200 ft) is about 260 HP (without nitrous). With nitrous his RWHP is about 368 with nitrous and not corrected for altitude. If his car is actually seeing 368 RWHP, it does not seem right that his trap speed is 115.9 mph; it should be around 106 mph. Either the track is correcting his speed for the altitude, or the speed is measured incorrectly.

The question is the following: do tracks at high altitudes correct the speed?

Hey dude,
Are you the one with the white WS6? I came up and talked to you and asked if you had a turbo. Anyways, that speed seems right to me because I ran a 13.995 @109.976 on a 75 shot. My 60 ft. was a 2.5 so 115 seems high but I believe it since I went almost 110.

Your run was at the same track up here in Albuquerque (5,200 ft). We are trying to figure out if the tracks at high altitudes correct the speed. Your speed of 110 mph on a 75 shot sounds right, if you were to run the car at sea level. At 5,200 ft you should be running about 102.7 mph. Does anybody here know if tracks correct the quarter-mile speed? Thanks!

Browsing around the Internet I found that tracks do correct times and speeds for altitude. Here is an article referring to the correction of time and speed by tracks at high altitudes:

I seriously doubt that the ABQ track adjusts times OR MPH. Stock I ran 14.3@97. This is about a second and 5+/- mph slower than I have heard most people say at sea level. I also have never heard of anybody saying that ABQ corrects either one. I really don't see why they would correct one and not the other. I think your best bet is that the trap speeds are off. I have definetly seen that before, but they are usually way off.

So I guess my answer is that no, those are not corrected speeds or times and you just have a hell of a top end.

yes that was me in the white ta. That was my first run at the track with nos. I ran a 14.42 at 101 naturally aspirated. I hate high elevations. Cant wait to move to Dallas next year!! With the nitrous, i thought i had a pogo stick on the back of my car as the rear end went boing, boing, boing. I hate wheel hop!!This will be my next project after heads, cam, exhaust.
