Surprised you did all that without a head and cam! Should be fine. Some other head may be a little better, however you will probably never notice.

Will it pass emissions? Does it need to?

I think a set of AFR 225's and a 239/243 on a 114.

Maybe send the heads back to MTI so they can upgrade them to a stage 3?

Send the heads back to MTI to upgrade them to a stage 3 head, along with opening up the combustion chamber to accept the larger bore on the motor, as I remember you saying that they were originally on your 346. Cam wise you should fine, id personnaly go a bit bigger

If I were you BEFORE you put your new heads on. Check your sleeves and deck surface. I can't seem to get one from them that doesn't leak coolant! It sucks to keep taking the motor in and out to keep repairing the block. Make sure to check the deck surface! Trust me. Good luck.

In my experience with big inch engines and heads, a 4.8/5.3/5.7 head can't hardly be opened up enough to feed the engine. We always run a LS6/6.0/AFR with at least 230cc port volume. We have seen 50 RWHP between a 225cc 5.7 head (300 cfm) and a 238cc 6.0 head (340 cfm). If you can't afford heads now, don't spend ANY money on the ones you have, you will not be happy long term. Put em on and run em till you can afford what you want. And the block issue? Do some research!
