Default Anyone ever run the Hoosier 27X11.5X15 QTP?

I have a MT Drag 26X10X15 now...
I was thinking about a Hoosier 27X11.5X15 QTP

I'm thinking 127MPH and this tire should do exactly what I want (6600 Trap rpm)

But I dont wanna give up any hook over my Slick....I could go MT 28X9X15 too but it as alittle small on the tread although its a full slick.

Noyzee had those on his car. If I remember correctly, he said that they worked rather well for him.... he said he had to beat the wheel well in one spot on both sides to clear... but teh 27 x 10.5 might clear without it, as they just barely hit on the track, and would occasionally hit on the street when going around a corner.

The 27x11.5 QTP's hook WAY better than the 28x9 ET drags.

the QTP hoosiers took 7k clutch dumps in my car.

The 28x9 would not take more than a 4k clutch dump without spinning a little and no way I could launch above 5500 without blowing the tires off.

The Hoosier 27x11.5 QTP is an awesome tire.

01- how much banging did you ahve to do to get that tire not to hit and where? Do you think that the 27 x 10.5 would clear without hammering the crap outta the wheel well? Reason I ask is once the 26 x 11.5 e.t streets I have are done (probably after about one, maybe 2 more track days) I'm gonna be looking for another tire, and wanna go with the biggest thing that I can without hammering on the wheel well. Gives the car alot better look at my car show schedule....I got a show car that occasionally goes to the track, not the other way around... so I wanna keep it looking that way.

the 27x11.5 hoosier?

None. It's actually a 27x10, but DOT tires are rated different than slicks.

the hoosied will out hook the et-drag easy. the m&h racemaster out hooks m/t tires too. a few of us with different tires all went to the track and tried out each others tires. i'll never put a m/t tire on my car for me they were crap.the m&h and hoosied out hooked them all day long.

I`m going with 27x11.5 QTP`s also. I`ve never heard of them rubbing before now. I run a Centerline Warrior 15x10 w/5.5" BS and my strange is narrowed 1" ea. side. According to the measurements the 27" QTP`s should tuck nice and not rub. But I could be wrong!

MT 26X15 ET DRAG HOOKS LIKE GLUE...I just wanted a tire that would help trap rpm with a larger cam,Hence the 27in Hoosier.

my m/t 26x10s were in the 1.5 range all day long. didn't have any luck with the 28x9s...different compound.

JS, i ran the QTP, they took my car to a 10.2 @ 139, and that was my third pass, so im sure it would have gone faster. they worked out well for me.
the MT your talking about is overall the same hight as the QTP, but the tread isnt as wide. the QTP would work better IMO

Quick Reply: Anyone ever run the Hoosier 27X11.5X15 QTP?
