TSP mail in tune??
Has anyone done the TSP mail in tune vs. Dyno tuning? There aren't any dyno shops wtih experience tuning f-bodies near me and I was thinking of doing the TSP mail in. I have a bunch of bolt-ons and a TSP 231/237 cam.
Thanks.
Thanks.

please wait til u have someone there with the car on the dyno to see what its doing. i already made this mistake once, and i will never do it again. for a real good thorough tuning job, the tuner will need to see what your car is doing all through the rpm band. he can also read your a/f ratio and adjust it if necessary. bottom line, u will most likely and up much happier if u wait and find someone who can have your car for an hour or so.

I was down at TSP thursday to have my car tuned after the cam install, but we decided to not dynotune it yet due to a bad lifter. anyways jason basicly made up a mailorder style tune then downloaded the tune on to the computer all with out ever starting the car and it runs fine, actually it runs great. if you dont have access to a dyno tune there mailorder tune will be your best bet. i have the TSP233/239 and it drives perfect from the tune. jason knows what he is doing

When I installed the TR227 I sent Jason my file, he adjusted it & it worked great. I just had to tweak the WOT mixure a little that's it. Now I just screwed it up by adding the ZO6 maf & tables & my ltrims are off & WOT is rich. TSP guys do a good job, before I couldn't even drive it.

Why or how do you suppose its takes the computer to "learn" how to control it? Is it like a memory type thing or something? I just don't quite understand if the PCM is getting its readings from the sensors, why would it change with time/mileage? I read that they ALL are like this, I am just wondering why? I am just used to speed density type stuff and when its mapped, its mapped and thats all it will ever be. Maybe during the season changes it might run different from the type of conditions its was mapped in but. These things seem really complex. Interesting stuff though. I hope mine runs ok after its done. Having the bitch die on the way to work is gonna suck.

I had it in world of wheels and the battery was disconnected for 3 days. When I started it up, it would not even idle at all. You should have seen me trying to drive out of the convention center in a line of cars trying to run the gas brake and clutch. I probably stalled about 7 times. After about 10 minutes the computer re-learned the idle and was ok, but still very rich and not liking the higer revs.

And that as dyno tuned or the mail order tune? I will be pissed if mine runs like that. I am assuming I will have a little idle hunting etc but if its parked for 3 days and then runs like **** when I do start it, I'm gonna do something else. Apparently even the smaller cams can do this though. My buddy has a 224/228 in his TA and he said his has bad idle hunt and dies from time to time. WTF?
