that guy was a moron anyways, probly didnt have a clue what the srt-4 was....lol, and no i'm not saying srt-4's are always faster than ls1's but they do have potential, and if you're a stock Z against a stage 3 or so srt-4, its not hte brightest idea to be talkin smack.

Maybe the SRT should race a stage 3 LS1... But that guy was a tool. Obviously had no idea about a stage 3 SRT. And that Z had to be stock...

I belive that SRT-4 was pretty close to being stock at the time of the race. The guy in the LS1 was talkin mad **** about it being a family car, so Jim showed him other wise.

here is a video of him and a H/C full bolt on Z06 doin highway runs. I belive a full bold on H/C Z06 is about equal to a bolt on SRT-4 right????

all I gotta say is congrats to him, he spent money to mod a turbo 4 door 4 cylinder, why not invest the money in something that will be quick, handle and be reliable, from what I heard, as soon as you start moddin SRT-4's, there quick but not exactly reliable (just like DSM's), the parts just went made to handle extreme abuse, plus they aint even got forged internals, you can always change that of course.......but why **** with it, I just dont get it.

Props to the S R T-4 driver. Schooled the SS guy good

Of course, if that was me gettin' schooled by a S R T-4 I wouldn't be laughin' right now Which hasn't happened. I've ran one from a 70 mph roll with 3 other peeps in the car and beat the guy to 100 by 3 cars...which, IMHO, means an SRT-4 is pretty fast 'cause that's the same distance I'd have put on an LT1 in that same race (w/peeps).

Anyone know what mods the S R T-4 had?

OH, and the Neon guy knew where to race an LS1 from...1st, not from a stop 2nd, 30 mph roll is no good 'cause it's a short and squirly 1st gear or a long second. 60 mph is no good 'cause it's a really tough 2nd gear or a real long 3rd gear.

I'd have gone from a 50 mph roll, 70 mph roll or worked something out w/the guy to find a moderate spot. Anyhow, kudos again to the SRT-4 driver.

At the time of the race, he just had a few bolt-ons. then came the bigger turbo. Look in the video I posted, it tells you his mods there.

It's a little more than a stage 3 now That thing is all sorts of stupid hooked up. Props to the man who can make the money to support his hobby proper like.

That's my car. At the time I was pretty stock, just an intake, downpipe, and a boost controller. The camaro was pretty stock too, he told me just a SLP lid, SLP exhaust and "fee mods". It was also an A4.

FWIW I was trapping about 106 in the 1/4 at the time of that race. I dont think he really knew what a SRT-4 was. I will admit that we ran from a stop and I gave up after first gear from all the tire spin.

The guy talked so much **** that I just had to get it on video.

You've got some bad information my friend. I've had 450whp and 457ft-lbs on a totally stock motor/trans/etc etc. for a half a year now. Whoever told you that the SRT-4 is unreliable when modded is dead wrong.

They do have a forged crank and a cast iron block and are built for boost. Mine is holding up nicely to 28psi, thank you very much!
