Default Check out my blackouts

I just put some blackouts on my car. Here is how my car looked before, and after.

I think it turned out pretty sweet

Looks great!

Nothing like blackouts on a black car.

no the exhaust is fine, and the car is just absolutely dirty. the exhaust only looks like that because its on an angle, but the right pic is readjusted. i brought it to a shop and they fixed it for me the paint is usually like glass, but it's been in my garage cause i have bene working on it, plus they are doing construction by my house. the dirt is like caked on there, and it's been too cold to get a wash.

Take some nail polish remover & get rid of the "AVS" emblem from the covers, ...
Or some other type of thinner, ...

Photo may do more justice to the car if it were from a litle further distance also.

looks cool, just hope you dont get rear-ended now...

also, with the exhaust, i think its just the tips, i dont think the big single tips look right on the pontiac's b/c the opening in the bumper is made for a dual/dual type of setup. but they do stick out too far imo.

Heard about many times with the Camaros, but never seen any history of it happening with the Firebirds, ...

I only put mine on during cruise nights, or an occasional show, ..., & then it depends on the show, ..., whether they look for authenticity or subtract for mod's in the stock class or not, ...

I thought that as well, but it IS just the angle it's at. I had them a little up more anyways. Those arent' tips they are just the pipe from the muffler back I know what you mean though, some cars do look crappy with singles.

I like the look of a polished taillight or headlight better, but they really do look good on black!

I used 3M Perfect-It II rubbing compound to remove the "AVS" logos.

You can also use Goo-gone or WD-40.

Mine are just starting to warp. I don't know why the blackouts do this to the light, anybody have a clue as to why the blackouts cause the lights to warp?

Because those tailights/brakelights let off some serious heat. Heat gets trapped between the blackout and the lense and you got instant melted tailight lense. Well... not instant, but give it a few months in summertime and it will certaily warp. Mines are very warped so my blackouts will be staying on indefinitely. lol
