Painting the Brake Calipers I really want to paint my brake calipers. I'm just not quite positive of how to go about it. Do I take the calipers on or leave them on and put a plastic bag over everything else? DO I spray the entire caliper or just some of it? Please help me..

I painted mine with them still attached, just taped up everything real well to prevent it from overspray. I just painted part of the top and the front, as that is all that you can see when the wheels are on. You could probably paint most of it just cover up the things you don't want to get painted, like the wheel well, pistons ect.

I used the brush on stuff and took all the calipers off. You don't get the pads that way. I think it's like the G2 system or something. I don't remember. About $40. It's got a nice glossy finish and they're as hard as a rock.

Did them on an old car,and took them off to do it.I used plain old engine block paint $6.00.It held up fine,I am going to do the same thing this spring when this car goes on the road.
