Talking Boyd F09 wheels on Hugger SS

Finally put on the new wheels/tires today.

18x10 rear with 293/35/18 BF Goodrich KDW2 tires

Also installed iRotors, and Corvette brake calipers (painted orange).

See here: https://ls1tech.com/99Camaro/index.htm

NICE Tony!! I really like them!! Did you just get the C5 caliper and still using the stock diameter rotor? I was going to do the EXACT same thing you did, but get a bracket made to adapt the 13" rotor, never got around to it though

Car looks clean and VERY nice with those wheels, but for all Hugger Orange SS's sake man, LOWER IT! It would be 100x's better with a pro-kit, still clean and oh so nice! I should have took those from Mike hehe

They have a little better caliper, bigger heat extractor fins on the top, and it looks cool, I would love to make a CAMARO caliper like the CORVETTE, but not letters, already got that

I have Z06 calipers on my '02 also. Just use the stock f-body baskets and f-body pads, it all bolts right up. The Corvette calipers are pressure cast, and are harder/stronger than f-body calipers, which are gravity cast. I noticed the difference between my '02 and my '99 when driving them back to back.

The car sits about an inch lower than normal Camaros due to the Bilstein shocks and spring package. I plan on adding the Hotchkis springs to the car like my '02.

Only problem with useing vette calipers and no upgradeing to the bigger rotor, so the vette calipers use smaller pistons and that will throw off your brake ballance some. Do the upgrade to the bigger rotors, it is worth it. Looks good Tony.

Damn Nine, you nearly gave me a heart attack, I literally ordered Hotchkis springs 19minutes ago and had a slight concern that that 1" drop won't be enough....Then I saw your car and was like oh **** thats what those springs look like Then I re-read your post that your planning on adding them like your 02

Anyhow, your 02s stance is perfect! I'm sure mine will come out perfect as well when all is said and done, even if its a touch higher

Oh yeah, the wheels look great

Looks awesome...still have or still want to keep those 35th wheels? If not, let me know. I could give them a REAL nice home.

sorry for the slight heart attack! The Hotchkiss springs are the best spring out there. I've had Eibachs (beat the crap out of you) and these Hotchkis springs ride like stock and drop the car just enough. When you first put them on, they sit a tiny bit higher, but after driving on them a couple weeks they come down some more. I've got them on the red Trans Am (click sig) and my '02.

Bull, the 35th wheels are not for sale. Those are staying with the '02, I kept all of the stock parts off of it. If I ever sell that car, I'll give the buyer an option to keep all the parts, or I can return it to stock.

Damn, that's what I feared. I would do the same. Thanks anyway. Once again, beautiful car...it's my new background.
