fast vs ls6 intakes....
as i was thinking of getting a fast intake... i have seen too many problems that people have been ahving with the fast intake.... warped manifolds... sounds like really poor quality control....
what kind of horsepower gains did everyone get that have switched from ls1 intake, to ls6..... just looking around still.... ls6 seems to be the way to go.. becasue of the quality... and its really been proven.... also ls6 is cheaper from what i have been seeing....
maybe looking to go with a mild cam later on... maybe some nitrous... airlid... bellow.. free mods... maybe new heads....
anyone have any dyno charts before/after ls6 intake?
thanks
Dan

I think a LS6 is good for about 10rwhp, the fast is a little more. I wouldnt get a FAST unless you pretty much run out of mods and want those few extra ponies. You can also get the fast 90mm tb, which is also good for some ponies.

the f.a.s.t intake is good but they do have problems with a whistle sound. one thing to remember is not to change your t.b. unless you have a head and cam package or serious amount of horse power. the stock one is good up to about 400-425 h.p. now before anyone gets all bent about this coment don't worry. i work for g.m. i know the specs. changing the t.b on a ls1 that is mostly stock could lean it out. i have seen a decrease in ets. because of this so be carefull. weiend makes a great polished intake that deliveries about 10-12 rwhp. its about $849.00 give or take a bit. much of that is because of the polish but i still have it. gl guys.

between the ls6 and 78mm fast, def. go with the ls6. you won't get that much more h.p from the 78mm fast, if any at all. and if you do get those couple extra h.p, it won't justify the price difference. the 90mm fast intake is a different story.

As for the whistling FAST90mm, it has its issues, but puts down really good power.
