tried calling out a GTO. i'm cruising down the street doing the speed limit. Next thing i know i see this car catch me pretty quick. it was a Black GTO. he pulled up next to me at the light so i figured we was gonna run'em. i throw a lil rev and nothing. light turns green and nothing. oh well, maybe next time.

Unless your talking about a ls2 gto, or your assuming it was modded out, you would have beat it. Against an ls2 goat you'd just need to pull a high 12 to win. Being honest here, the gto has the same ls1 as you, and weighs more. Regardless of its closer geared tranny your still going to creep away from a stock one.
Especially if you have a cam causing lope... you'd win against either one in its stock form.
