Default LS1 cam spec's?

Anyone got the Stock cam spec's for LS based cars and trucks?

Want to see what stock is to spec out Sleeper cam's. HIGH lift low duration cams that should add quite a bit to tthe bite with some tunning

OH yeah and sound fairly stock, heck they might even Pass emissions

They're teeny tiny... '98-'00 are slightly bigger, but not by much:

stock 98-00

duration@.050 198.86 intake 209.25 exhaust
lift .498 intake .497 exhaust
LSA 119.45

stock 01-02

duration@.050 196.37 intake 208.72 exhaust
lift .464 intake .479 exhaust
LSA 115.92

I was thinking more along the lines of a 211/208 .564/.573 114

I know that's kind of what LPE was thinking with the GT2-3 cam... it's a 207/220 .578/.580 on a 118.5 lsa @ .050. Does pretty well, makes more hp than the LS6 cam does all across the powerband from what I've seen.

I'd be interested to see how a stealth cam you design the specs for comes out... you do know your stuff.

I will bet they are going that way to keep tunning to a minimum. Super wide LSA makes cam very soft.

What are the flow numbers for a stock GTO?

Not sure on the GTO's cam... I'm assuming you're talking the '04s right? Lemme see if I can dig 'em up...

After driving a LS1 for a month or so the thing that sticks out is lack of throttle responce down low. I would like to see more

Ellis I installed that GT2-3 cam into a 5.3 Suburban. With tuning and long tube headers I gained 67hp! The cat back was a Borla system. Had it been the improved Cadillac or Denali cat back I could see maybe another 5hp. That cam idles like a stocker, bump the idle speed and no one would know any difference.

Why are you looking for a "Sleeper" cam?

Yes sir, that is the weak place on a stock LS1. Below 3krpm is crapola. Interesting that you are going with more intake duration. That kinda goes against what I've seen make power with stock heads. I guess it might get rid of that issue, but I'd think you'd pay for it up higher.

Most of the cars I race (other than LS1s of course) take me down low & then I pull past them in the top of 2nd / 3rd gear. Which is one of the reasosn I went with a torquey cam & 4.11s. Should be interesting to see what that cam does!

As for the GTO, I thought it had an LS6 cam, but the posts I see say it has a Vette cam, witha 119 LSA. It idles like it might. I can tell you it's acceleration is more linear than our TA was. But it's missing that explosive burst around 4k.

Well it takes less then a days work to swap a LS1 cam...and I know a few under warranty that would love an extra 50+ RWHP and still carry there warranty

I am looking to cut a cam that can't quite tell is there and yet give a harder tug in the bottom end. The head design may hold part of this back BUT I want to find out for sure.

As far as the exhaust lobes Mark? Once I find flow numbers The lobe may change. The new LS7 uses a 211/230 cam BUT the exhaust only flows 59%(58.9%) of the intake.

Once I get more info I iwll get one cut. I know GTO that could use one
