There was a thread on this late last year. The IHRA had issued rules stating something to the effect that any car running 13.49 and quicker would need to run a rollbar. Somebody wasn't keeping up to date on what our modern muscle cars are capable of even in stock form. That rule was eventually changed to reflect what you've stated.

However, a track can still decide that they want it to be 11.99 if they want. This was the debate a few weeks back about Houston Raceway Park in Baytown. They are still at 11.99 I think, anybody know any different?

I know. The rules are different if you run nitrous. Now I have to put in a roll cage, which will be heavy & slow me down & maybe push me back into the 12's, plus the tech guy wants to see a racing jacket and 5-point harness. More $$$$.....

according to the NHRA rulebook and website, there is no power-adder rule. I'd contact your division tech director to clarify (Texas is division 4, and I'd check out www.nhradiv4.com for tech director phone # or e-mail), as sometimes certain track tech guys are a little behind the 8-ball. I had to educate a tech guy last year on why a trunk-mounted nitrous bottle doesn't need a blow-down tube.
