i have no numbers from my buddy, but he just bought a Mustang Cobra (4.6L non 03/04). It's got headers, x pipe, flowmasters, shocks, springs.

were gonna go from a dig and then a 1st gear roll. just curious how i am gonna fair. i know if i can catch traction and get a decent 60 i'd be a crap load faster.

ehh...... I dunno man you better watch out. those cobras are wicked fast ('03+). I think I would favor the cobra if he's a good driver.

If its an 03+ then he is in for a raping, but if its 96-01 he will probably pull 2-3 cars.

Hmm, it could be close, thats for sure. It's really tough to say. Those cars are capable of high 12's in stock form, but times have also been high 13's even 14's. When you race cars this fast, the times are all over the place because some people can drive, some can't. I'd say its all going to come down to driver ability. Good luck though. Don't do it from a 2nd gear roll or any higher, you won't win. Definately stay with the dig, only 1st gear roll if you have to.

its not an 03/04 cobra. i think 01 or something. ya i was thinking hed get me by about a car or so. should be interesting, ill get it on tape.

If the cobra is still on stock gears you should pull out the win. It could be close from a dig if your buddy can drive, from a roll you eliminate the difficulty of the launch and you should take him.

If its an 01, I'm willing to bet you'll win. I was thinking it was an 03/04.

If its an 03-04 he will get you, but if its a 99/01 without a decent gear you got him. An 99/01 with them mods and a healthy 4.30 and traction would be very tight race he might even be able to pull it off.
But since he has no gear you'll kill em.

Them 99/01s are not in there powerband with them stock gears...

Here is my experience with racing a Cobra. My friend's brother had a 97 with those mods, gears and such. His best run here was 14.6. He had better reaction times then me, but once I got my 60' down, I went from a 14.6 [Faster then his best time] to a 14.3.


I still have the time slips somewhere, but I don't know where. I am not joking though and I'm sure posted these results months ago. Either way I think you will take him or at least be there with him.

Didnt the 01 cobras have a recall because they werent making the power they advertised? Not positive on that but I thought I read that on one of the cobra forums. Either way it should be a close race. I wouldnt couldnt on smoking him with the mods he says he has but if you get traction you should win by a car or so. Def get it on tape though, the close races are the best. Good Luck!

Are yall kidding...the cobra has no chance...if he has gears and an auto, he will get the jump...once stoleit is at the top of 2nd, he will catch him and pass. This is insane...very lightly modded cobra vs. a 13.3 ls1. This is a joke!

my cousin has a 99 cobra with headers, off road x-pipe, cold air intake and gears and i can pull him all day no problem with the mods in my sig. he will usually get the jump out of the hole by about half a car (damn 2.73's) but i drive by him pretty fast.
