Default EFIlive or LS1 edit?

I've been reading on both these products and both seem to be good. EFIlive looks to be a little better though. Can EFIlive adjust for diff rear gears? Is it worth the extra money over LS1 edit? Any info is appreciated.

Please do not buy ls1edit.

I have HPTuners and I am very happy with it.

EFILive/FlashScan can adjust for gearing, tire size, special corvette parameters due to the transaxel, etc. I would not buy LS1Edit nor could I recommend it to anyone at this stage of the game. There are better products on the market representing a much better value to consumers now.

All my best,

Steve

In editing power ls1edit is ok until you go to larger cams. I'm still using edit as there has not been enough reason for moving with the combo I have now.

As mentioned... edit is not really a choice anymore... for the price you don't even get decent scanner... and the licensing model is VERY restrictive

I've been using HP Tuners for almost a year now on my TA and GTP (www.hptuners.com -> board sponsor as well) and have been very happy... the scanner integrates in w/the tuner so much better solution than edit and autotap...

The licensing structure is very nice and lends towards high resale value (you pick 2 models they support... you can then tune ANY of those... so if you buy a 98 F-Body you can tune ANY 98 F-Body (V6 seperate from LS1) ... if you then add on a 2000 GTP for example.. you can also tune any 2000 Grand Prix ... )

I think some people got off the thread. It says efi live or edit i didn't here hp tuners.Hp tuners has been on the market longer than efi live tuning software and i don't think your going to get a good comparable answer.I have bought efi live and have not used it yet so i cant say how great it is.The one thing that sold me is the data box without a laptop.Ive been to the track and laptop gos dead because of long staging lanes.Im big into data so that is important to me.And efi live will recover a crashed computer just like hp tuners just like ls1 ldit will not recover a crashed computer. If you make a choise i think it should be hp tuners or efi live.Good luck

I like EFILIVE better than all the other stuff I have , 98 will be a free update for users who have bought efilive from what I see on there website as it is being developed by the users rather than the efilive guys who are going to support it.

I also prefer Efilive over LS1edit and Hptuners , I have bought all 3 over the years to do my car and much prefer the interface of efilive , as well as its datalogging abilites both with the laptop connected and the blackbox logging.

The will all do the job required but I got stung on LS1edit with their upgrade policy , then got stung buying Hptuners that came out a few days later with the enhanced interface and a similar upgrade policy.

Efilive give me free upgrades for life which I like

He's got a 98 ... so EFI Live isn't an option for him right now... and edit isn't an option for anyone AFAIK ... so people were offering suggestions on the only feasible option available for his car... which is HP Tuners right now

Where on their site does it mention not working with 98 PCMs? I'm slightly miffed after purchasing it only to find that I spent a **** load of money on a paperweight.

I can not believe that my car is now sitting motionless until the very customers that spent all that money on a supposedly robust product write the code for the product THEY PAID FOR!!!!! Holy **** batman, what is wrong with this picture? If anybody here is from EFI Live.... bad show.

i might be stating the obvious, but why dont you plug the laptop into the car? if you dont want a car charger, a power inverter would let you plug it in no prob..($20-$40 depending on model, wattage and where you buy it)
