Default Differance between a 114 lsa and a 112 lsa on a 224 cam

Hey all:
Yes I did a serach but want to know what the biggest differance between a 114 lsa cam to a 112 lsa cam on a 224.

I ended up going with a 224 with a 114 lsa since I am in California.

I just want to know what I gave up. Was it more idle or hp and torq?

Thanks

Depends on the valve events.

The LSA just tells us where the peak intake and exhaust lift points occur in
relation to each other.

Depending on the valve timing, there might be a more aggressive grind on the
114 than the 112.

Link us to some cam cards, or post the valve timing please.

It is a custom grind cam by Don Lee's. I will get more specs for you guys. I never wrote down what he told me. My fault. All I remember is it was a 224/224 570 lift both sides and 114 lsa.
I will call him tomorrow.

Also what exactly specs do I need?

Write down anything he throws at you, but to answer your question effectively,
you'll need the vavlve opening and closing points (IE: IVO, EVC, etc).

If you can get the centerline angles, that would be cool too.

Blown V8, depends on whose lobes you went with. But I'd be willing to bet that you're not giving up all that much. You're gainin a hell of a lot more than you're not.

Among those things already mentioned, you may just shift the power curve about 2-400 RPM higher with the 114 over the 112, that's all.

Since you're in California, I'd say the biggest difference is that you'll pass sniffer with the 114 LSA

PREDATOR-Z once told me that there's about a 10hp difference between the 112 and 114. That's all I know.

Depends on the cam grind. 112 and 114 LSA values can't be generalized to
every cam.

There are more important factors that tie in with getting the lobe separation angle.

In other words, the LSA value is the resulting number, not the determining factor. The cam designer/engineer needs a starting point to reference from
such as IVO, or intake centerline (each at a given degree).

The LSA numbers are referenced to the intake centerline I believe.
