Default Torque Thrust II's - 18's or 17's?? HelP!!

My current setup is stock 10 spoke CHROME SS wheels 17x9.5 all around w/ NITTO 555R EXTREME DRAG RADIALS 275/40/17 on rear (40% meat left) with regular NITTO 555r on front (95% meat left) - EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE!

.. Im looking in to getting some TTII's for my 01' SS

I can't decide whether to go with 17x9.5 Front 17x11 Back

OR

18X10 or 18x? all around

Im looking for that "low profile" look but I also want to use some nice WIDE 315 tires (Nitto's or MT's) on the rear .. better grip for racing.

I'm scared the 17's will look too small. But I LOVE the WIDE tire look for the rear.

What do you guys think from experience is a better choice? I AM going to be tracking/racing the car a good amount and I want some sweet lookin' wheels!

Thanks for you're help !

18's or 17's?

Contact me if you are interested in buying my wheels.. they are in great condition!

17"s will be PLEANTY. Not only that, but IMO and from the articles I've ready, for turning left and right, bigger doesn't always mean better. If you go bigger on the rim, you don't have as much sidewall, and you could get a bit taller tire to compensate for that "filled" look. But hey, get what you think is best. The only thing is if you plan on doing bigger rotors in the future, I think someone said that TTII don't accomidate a BIG rotor. I don't know exactly waht the limits are, so you might want to look into that. Have fun!

Also I don't think they are making the MT D/R in anything bigger than a 16 right now. I might be mistaken though. Definately upgrade you're rear if you plan on running those things

you know i'm not too sure but i dont think anything bigger than stock. If i remember right someone told me that anything else would not fit. so i will just run powerslot rotors with good pads. they all burn up anyway so at the very least oem sizes are cheaper

I would go 18's 10's or 10.5's out back and 9.5's in the front. 17's 11's out back and 9.5's in the front look good to. But IMO the 18's look a little better.

Here's a rear shot and again this is the "302 camaro" it was a concept a few years ago not my car, I wish it was though

The only 2 pictures I can find sorry.

You can get those wheels anywhere that sells American racing wheels.

I know discount tire sells them, They take like 2 months to build though so you are going to have to wait.

You'll find a lot more high performance and race tires in 17 than 18.

Sorry to bring back this thread guys, but I'm seriously considering getting the 18's and so to order them i need to know the bolt pattern in inches and how big of a back up spacing i will need to fit my car. The front's will be 18x8 and the rears 18x10. Thanks for any help at all!
