can you increase the redline of lsx engines by building the head? i was from the honda world and hearing the engine rev to 9k+ was music to my ears.

Same concepts apply:
1. Use search
2. Lightweight valvetrain
3. Strong rod bolts
4. Tuning
You're not getting to 9k rpm's though....at least not twice on the same motor.

I'm sure that "music" of high revs is how the Honda owner in this vid comforts himself:
Hummer vs. Civic
In all seriousness, on a mild buildup on the stock bottom end, an LS1 powered vehicle will operate alright up to about 7k rpms. Beyond that, and you're seriously on borrowed time, no matter what valvetrain setup you have.

Hearing a POS honda rev to 9K was music to your ears? Better have your hearing checked.

rotating mass...that is key...you must remember you are spinning 8 cylinders not 4...and they weigh a lot more...so you will never rev as high as a smaller 4 cylinder engine...when both are built correctly and equally...revving the engine higher is not necassarily beneficial so i wouldn't be caught up in how high an engine revs...my 6500 reving car will destroy an s2000 that revs to 9000...unless some sort of Forced induction is used...which i would still prolly take the majority of them...you rev to where you stop making power

yeah theres no reason to rev that high unless you actually make power that high. other than that, it just sounds really nice. if a built 2L 4 banger sounds nasty that high in rpm, imagine a v8 reving that high.
maybe the ls7 can be modded to rev up to 8k because of titanium internals? i guess ill have to wait and see.
anybody know the redline for the c5r?
