Default Loudmouth Exhaust Vs. Custom

Alright, once again another Newb question from me. Okay, I'm looking to put a new exhaust system in my LS1 Trans Am. Im looking at either the Loudmouth exhaust system, or running my own exhaust system with dual 2 1/2" or 3" pipes.. Which one do you guys think? Thanks again!

Well.. I paid 325 for my loudmouth new. Then after I got headers.. I had a custom true dual system... 2.5" with dynomax bullets.. and my sub frames welded up, and done for 300 total. It sounds better... makes more power.... and looks meaner IMO.

If dumping before the axels is a problem with you I would stick with a catback tho.

If you have stock manifolds and cats, then there is really no reason to get duals. If you are running long tubes than duals would be a good idea.

Stock manifolds and cats = Loudmouth
longtube headers = duals

That is exactly what I did. I ran the loudmouth on my essentially stock car for 18 months. Then I had the duals put on after I installed the headers. IMO it's a great way to do it.

I bought a used Hooker Catback in good condition. I like it alot. I've seen them on some pretty fast cars. Not too loud when cruising, sounds good when you want it.

yeah good way to go. I had the loud mouth and for what it was worth sounded awesome. but I went online to summint and jegs and found the best prices. but I got a universal 3inch xpipe setup $99 bux plus shipping of course. then I paid another $28 bux for the bullets. and it sounds way meaner than the loudmouth. hope this helps. o and I welded it myself.
