Default Heads/cam good for 450 rwhp and still good gas mileage?

I am taking the LS1 out of my wrecked Camaro and putting it in a RX-7 FD. Now, I had a procharger on my Camaro and loved to power and gas mileage, and I was thinking about doing a turbo for my RX-7 project. However, as you could imagine, there is a problem with engine compartment space, so I was thinking of doing a STS type custom turbo setup. Now, I am thinking of staying N/A. So, with the back story told, is there a good heads/cam/valve trian parts setup that could get me to around 450 rwhp and still get decent gas mileage?
Thanks for any input.

You need to talk with the guys in Huntsville, AL. I think their name is Hinson something? Anyways, they have all the conversion parts, wiring harnesses that you need for the transplant.

On my Z06 I used AFR 205 heads, straight from the box. No hand work. Milled .040 to get the CR up to 11:1. A G5X3 cam, Comp R lifters, 921 springs and an under drive pully. It breathes through a Halltech stinger, stock TB and manifold. LG longtubes, cats and stock mufflers.

This setup makes 457 rwhp and 417 rwtq. It gets a consistant 26 hwy and 20 city. On long trips it occassionally gets 28+. Of course you can get single digits if you want.

An RX-7 has got to be making a smaller hole in the air than a Vette. So I would think you could easily reproduce these numbers.

Damn, that's good gas mileage, I'll check into those products. Also, yeah, I will be getting the hardware I need from the swap from Hinson, but I'll do my own engine harness, thanks for telling me though. Does anyone else have any other recommendations on a good heads, cam, valve train set up for what I am looking for?
Thanks.

Welcome to the dark side

2850lbs car with 450rwhp will rip.

I went with AFR 205's milled .024" and TSP 233/239 112LSA cam and hoping for 450rwhp with LS6 intake/ported TB. Jagsthatrun.com (JTR) makes custom long tube headers for the LS1/FD conversion. They picked up nearly 20rwhp over some midlength Camaro headers.
