Spanked a Lamborghini Gallardo!
I swear, Silicon Valley is infested with these exotics these days. Hardly a week goes by when I don't see a Ferrari or 911TT tooling around on the freeway. Tonight I encountered a Gallardo... and I was in the SL65
Heading down 101 to Fry's this evening, I spy an odd light configuration ahead of me in the #2 lane. I speed up to get closer and... it's a yellow Lambo! I pull up alongside the Gallardo, wave to get the driver's attention, then give a big thumbs up and hit the gas for a second just to say "hi". In the rearview I see him pull into the #1 lane behind me, so I move back into the #2 lane. Instead of pulling back alongside me, the Lambo gasses it and flys by at about 100 MPH (a "linguini flyby?") then hits the brakes.
It's on, b*tch
I follow the Lambo (who has sped up to about 80) as we work our way through a little traffic. Eventually we're in the #2 lane, the Lambo in the lead, with clear road for about 1/2 mile in front of us. I've already downshifted into 3rd (~70 MPH) and I hear the Gallardo's engine note change as he hits the gas. I instantly floor it, and the Gallaro's momentary surge forward is arrested. I start gaining on him within a second, pull out into the now-clear #1 lane, and about 3 seconds later FLY by him. I put a couple buslengths on the now-humbled Lambo, then back off the gas (no time to look down at the speedo, but I'd guess 140 MPH ). The lambo stays WAY back (like, 1/8 mile back) and never catches up even after I slow to 65. I see him exit at the next opportunity.
My heart is still thumping, and I have a grin from ear to ear as I cloverleaf my way back onto 101 north. I love this car!!

I used to see Treynor all the time over at LS1.com ... he's a good guy.
Glad to see you made the switch.
Nice kill in the benz.
Btw, what ever happened to that 1000 hp viper of yours ???
