cam and rocker ??????
OK, some one was telling me that I need to get new rockers to run my cam with my stage II heads??? The cam specs are in my sig. He was saying that I need to get 1.7 rockers. But arent stock rockers 1.7's on a 2000 LS1???? Any feedback on this??? Thanks
Rob

Rob,
You certainly don't need new rocker arms, but, if you have the money, it's not a bad idea to get aftermarket ones.

Do a search and see? I read the internals forum every day. I think I'd be concerned if I read more threads about them failing.
BTW, I've seen enough threads with people's dyno graphs going all erratic past 5500 rpms due to certain aftermarket rockers.

Yess stockers are good, but if you're taking the heads off and running bigger cams, might as well put replacement Comp 850-16 or Crane ones (better than Comp but a little more expensive). There is also Morrels of course.
Most stock lifters fail due to improper preload or with cams that surpass their designed parameters.

Yeah, I was thinking since I am going to have it all broke down, might as well replace them while I am there. The motor has about 81k on it now....and still running really strong...other than a little tuning. But that will come after the install. I am just going to go with a set of stock lifters......the cam going in is in my sig, and a set of Absolute stage II heads
